Lake Park High School's second event in the "Lancer Welcome Series" will take place on Wednesday, February 11. The program, intended for parents/guardians only, will begin in the East Campus Dice Auditorium at 6:15 p.m. and conclude at 8:30 p.m. Doors will open at 6:00 p.m. This event is an opportunity to learn about the excellent resources available to Lancer families and students.

During the opening presentation, families will hear from the Counseling Team about important information related to graduation planning and postsecondary readiness. Following the opening session, parents/guardians will have the opportunity to select four breakout sessions of their choice. This flexible format is designed to allow families to explore the topics most relevant to them and to ask questions directly of student services team members, teachers and students.

Plan Your Path

The District will welcome 8th graders to Lake Park, introduce them to East Campus, and begin to share what it means to be a Lancer. The annual event for incoming freshmen on Wednesday, January 14, 2026 represents the first opportunity for families to be directly involved in developing a student’s high school educational plan and start thinking about how students may explore their interests over the four years to follow.

The evening will begin with a presentation in the Dice Auditorium that will include a review of our placement process and other key information to set your student up for success in high school. An open house will follow to allow families to tour parts of the campus, visit elective classrooms, and provide families with an opportunity to meet faculty and staff from each department, including our curriculum leaders and counselors.

The program is designed to benefit both parents/guardians and students. To accommodate all attendees, please follow the assigned starting times listed below. We ask that families arrive 15 minutes prior to your program start time to allow sufficient time to pick up folders with welcome information prior to the program start.

6:00 p.m.  —   Peacock Middle, Medinah Middle, St. Walter
6:30 p.m.  —  Spring Wood Middle, Trinity Lutheran, St. Peter, other private schools
7:00 p.m.  —  Westfield Middle, Roselle Middle

It is extremely important that families attend their assigned session above. Seating capacity in the Dice Auditorium will be limited, and the schedule is carefully created to ensure enough seating during each session for families. This will also ensure that elective tours are not overcrowded and that all families have an opportunity to connect with Lake Park staff in a positive manner.
