Masterworks Concert on May 14
Lake Park will host its first annual Masterworks Concert on Tuesday, May 14 at 7:00 pm in the West Campus Auditorium. The concert will feature works scored for both chorus and orchestra. Having Lake Park wind ensemble members perform alongside a professional string chamber orchestra will allow the pieces to be performed as the composers had originally envisioned rather than with adaptations for other instruments. The professional string orchestra is possible through funding provided by the Lake Park Choral Parents Association.
The Masterworks concert is titled In Memoriam: Dedicated to the Survivors of the Sandy Hook Elementary School Tragedy. The chorus was comprised of the LPHS curricular choir classes and the orchestra of instrumentalists from LPHS and professional musicians from the Chicago area. A donation will be accepted at the end of the concert to benefit the DuPage County chapter of the National Association on Mental Illness.
The Senior Recital Concert will be held on Thursday, May 16 at 5 pm in the West Campus Auditorium.
